I've very close to throwing my money down on my first new car, a WRX premium in galaxy blue pearl.
I've wanted one of these for a very long time. I've got a quote from a dealer for the exact car I want. I'm at the point where I can definitely afford it, but it is still hard to pull the trigger!
Edit. thank you kinja for refusing to let me post a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
Edit2: Thanks to all of you kind enablers I just emailed the dealer to hold the car for me. Obviously it's not done yet, It's still on the water due to arrive in a couple weeks, but soon....

If you can afford the monthly payments, gas, insurance, and possible repairs, go for it.

Bright blue WRX under warranty and all minty fresh? Nah, can’t find a thing wrong with that if the price is right.

Galaxy blue is a dark blue, so it’s stealthier. Even better for staying out of trouble.

you only live once, if you can afford it go for it, I did the same for a BRZ

Stealth Scoobage - a good plan.

I saw a few of the new (VA) WRXs today (including a Galaxy blue), and they look very nice.

I originally wanted the WRB but saw a galaxy blue on the street and really loved it. A little more classy, but still nice and aggressive looking

I’d take Galaxy Blue over WRB all day, every day. I think you should go for it assuming you have driven it and like it and such

I've ran the figures, I absolutely can afford it though I need to double confirm the insurance rate not that I have a VIN. Still it's so much money... but I really want it

I'm at the stage where I can afford it and don't have any family type responsibilities that say I need something more practical.

I drove the previous gen wrx and this gen STI and couldn't get the shit eating grin off my face either time. I do need a test drive in this particular car before buying of course

Do it! I just bought my first new car last month and still in love.
One bit of advice: Get a pre-approval for the loan through a credit union (they usually have better rates, and you’ll know what your score will get you), and then challenge the dealer to match.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement.
I did exactly that a couple days ago and got a decent rate 2.4% from them.

DO IT! Before you have kids. Once you have them there’s no point to having a new/mint car.

Exactly same position I was in 6 months ago when I pulled the trigger, one benefit for you though with the WRX is that it’s more practical than the BRZ :D
